CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS

Lexington has a Council/Manager form of government with a five-member Council elected at large by the public. The Mayor is elected from within the Council for a two-year term, each Council member is elected for a four-year term. The city manager is appointed by the City Council.

The Lexington City Council generally meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at the City Municipal Building, 406 E. Seventh Street. Meetings are open to the public and agendas are available in the City Manager’s office. Each meeting includes a "citizens' comments" segment where non-agenda items may be discussed by interested Citizens. Issues can be considered for placement on a regular council agenda by calling the City Manager’s office at (308) 324-2341.
