COMMUNITY SERVICES (Street, Water Parks, Cemetery)

This area of Lexington public works includes installation, repair and maintenance of our 170 lane miles of streets, our water and sewer systems, six parks and two cemeteries.   The Glenn Hawks Community Service Building at 801 West Vine (just south of Highway 30), is the site for citizens to obtain free dirt, compost and wood chips for gardening and landscaping projects.  In addition this is where citizens may, for a nominal fee, get rid of some large or hazardous disposal items such as appliances, furniture, and tires.
