PARKS AND TRAILS

Lexington boasts 8 public parks, plus a new skateboard park and Family Aquatic Center, with more than 100 acres of recreational green space.  In 2007, Lexington began construction Phase 1 of a multiphase trail project that is planned to eventually circumnavigate the City.  Phase 1 is mostly on the west side of Plum Creek Parkway (Hwy 283), starting a half mile north of Interstate 80, and ending at the Pedestrian Overpass at Hwy 30 (Pacific Street) and Madison Street.

Under Nebraska law, a political subdivision is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in recreational activities resulting from the inherent risks of the recreational activities pursuant to section13-910.

Rules:

  • Skateboarding and roller skating only
  • Helmets, elbow pads, wrist guards and knee pads required
  • Only city-installed equipment may be used in the skating area or adjacent park area
  • Use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs is prohibited
  • NO food or drink allowed in the skating area
  • NO glass items permitted
  • NO graffiti, stickers or littering
  • NO profanity
  • Skate at your own risk
